Families will have a ball at the Brockport Summer Art Fest on Main Street in Brockport on Saturday, July 31, and Sunday, August 1, 2010. Events will include the popular Duck Derby; over 100 artists and crafts-people, great music and food and activities for kids.
This summer's Corn Hills Arts Festival will be held July 10 & 11. Traditionally held the weekend after July 4, this two-day summer festival plays host to over 500 of the country's best artists and craftspeople. From pottery to paintings, woodworking to sculptures, textiles to jewelry, the Corn Hill Arts Festival has it all--including food, entertainment and fun! No pets, please.
The 2010 Monroe County Fair runs from July 14-18 and will feature Discount Day on July 14, Summer Fun Day on July 15, Kids' Fun Day on July 16, Family Fun Day on July 17 and Celebrate Community Day on July 18.
The New York State Fair (Aug. 26 thru Sept. 6, 2010) is a 12-day summer showcase of agriculture, education, entertainment, industry and technology with 375+ acres of animals, exhibits and displays. Live entertainment. Midway rides and games of skill. Mountains of mouth-watering food.
The famously fun Park Avenue Fest will be on Saturday and Sunday, August 7 and 8 this year. In addition to the artists, food and music, there will be special children's entertainment areas throughout the festival, and the Rochester Museum and Science Center offers supervised, interactive and educational kids' activities on the Museum's campus.

Free Laser Shows for a night of family entertainment. Beginning July 2, shows are held on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights (with no show Saturday, July 4 to accommodate the City's Independence Day Firework Display). GEH Summer (week-long) Workshops for Kids begin Monday, June 28 and run through Friday, September 3, 2010. Kids (in age-specific groups) take pictures with digital and other cool cameras, use photo-editing tools, and create custom masterpieces. Each week brings different hands-on activities around the Museum, in the darkroom, and in the computer lab. Campers receive a take-home CD with all their creations. Registration is required. Ages 7-8, 9-10, and 11-12.
