Local Summer Food Programs

 

 

Summer Eat

 

 

Many local students receive free or reduced meals during the school year, but what about the summer months?  No child should be expected to go hungry, and thanks to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Summer Food Service Program, they don’t have to.  The Rochester City and Gates-Chili school districts will both be offering this program throughout the summer.  For more information, including locations and program times, please visit the links below.

 

 

 

Gates-Chili School District
The other good news is that there are no income requirements and no registration necessary. Any child under age 18 may come to eat. Meals must be eaten on site and parents/guardians may also purchase a meal for a nominal fee of $3.00 for lunch and $1.50 for breakfast.

DATES: July 9 - August 17, 2012  ~ Monday through Friday
TIMES: Breakfast - 7:00 AM - 9:15 AM  ~ Lunch - 10:30 AM - 12:45 PM

Rochester City School District
The City will provide free breakfast and lunch to those age 18 years Food Service Program. Meals will be served Monday through Friday through Aug. 17, except July 4. Some sites will remain open until Aug. 24. Sites include community agencies, schools, churches and recreation centers.


Meals will be provided to all children without charge and are the same for all children, regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service.
