Collaborative law and mediation both encourage the parties to work together, in a respectful environment, to find mutually agreeable solutions to issues that arise in divorce, such as child custody, child support, maintenance (alimony), and property division. Collaborative law uses attorneys and professionals in mental health and financial matters to assist couples and families to transition in as smooth a manner as possible. Mediation typically involves couples working with a neutral mediator to reach an agreement regarding their divorce. Divorce litigation refers to matters that are handled within the court system, and may involve a more adversarial approach than is present in mediation or collaborative law. Allow us to help you, by finding what method is best for you, guiding you through the process of divorce, and working toward the best solutions for you.
Attorney Lori Parker is a member of the Monroe County Bar Association, the Collaborative Law Association of the Rochester Area. She also volunteers with the Volunteer Legal Services Project, and with the local Parent-Teacher-Student Association. She has authored over 50 articles about legal issues.
Parker Law Office's convenient location, at 2425 Clover Street, Rochester, New York 14618--at the corner of Monroe Avenue and Clover Street (Route 65)--is just off of the Monroe Avenue exit of I-590. There is plenty of free parking.
