The Advocacy Center
Creating a World that Works for Everyone
The Advocacy Center empowers individuals with disabilities and their families to advocate for themselves and realize their personal goals. Together we build strong, inclusive communities by increasing the ability of community members to support and value all individuals.
Through information-sharing, educational workshops, individual advocacy support, and independent service coordination, we advance people's knowledge and skills and improve their access to resources and services. Our leadership development programs prepare individuals to help others as volunteer lay advocates and agents for positive change in their communities. Our TIES (Together Including Every Student) program provides support for students with developmental disabilities to enable them to participate in extracurricular and community activities.
The Advocacy Center educates and empowers parents to become involved in their children’s education in a meaningful way and facilitates collaborative, positive relationships between families and educators.
We offer workshops and conferences for professionals who want to be more effective when interacting with or supporting individuals with disabilities and their families. Interactive disability awareness workshops are available for community groups.
